Religious education, liturgical experiences and prayer time are an essential part of the daily program at St. Francis of Assisi School. Preschool: Religion, art, music, psychomotor development, language arts, math readiness, science/health, social studies and group participation. Kindergarten: Religion, emergent reading/language arts, mathematics readiness, social studies, science, health, music and rhythms, visual arts, physical education, educational games and play time. Grades 1-5: Language arts (reading, language, spelling, writing), mathematics, social studies and science. Also, art, health, physical education, music, computer literacy and library/information skills. Grade 6: Required courses: art, English, health, math, physical education, reading, religion, science, social studies, study skills. *Elective courses: chorus, music appreciation, band, computer, fun with language, pre-Spanish, world geography. Grades 7-8: Required courses: religion, English, literature, math, physical education, health, science, social studies. *Elective courses: art, crafts, drawing, world geography, Spanish, computer, first aid, band, introduction to guitar, chorus, psychology. Remedial Support (Grades 1-8): Trained support staff to assist students in need of learning support.

Mass is celebrated on a weekly basis for grades K-5 and mass is interspersed with prayer services for grades 6-8. Liturgies are planned by alternating classrooms with the children playing an active part in the Mass.
Elementary: Basketball (4th & 5th grade), Softball (4th & 5th grade). Middle School: The following are offered for grades 6-8: Volleyball (girls), Basketball (boys/girls), Cheerleading (girls), Softball (boys/girls), Tennis (boys/girls).
*Elementary: Student Council, Peer Mediators, Art Show, band concerts, academic contests. *Middle School: Athletics, Roncalli Math Bowl, D.A.R.E. Program, Student Council, dances for students grades 7-8, music concerts, Art Show, student librarians, Art Club, school play, school yearbook, socials for students (grade 6), retreats, students AIDS Task Force, academic contests.
Tuition assistance is available to all who qualify. Tuition is approximately 25% of the cost of educating a child. The remaining 75% is funded through the generosity of our six parishes and the work of our Development Committee.
