It’s never too early to start your Christmas shopping.

To help get you in the Christmas mood, the scrip office will be giving out a gift.  We will have a drawing from all weekly orders turned into us from Nov. 10 through Nov. 14^th at 4:00 p.m. (one per family).  The lucky winner will be given a choice of a $25 gift card for either Best Buy or Bath and Body. We will draw the name on Monday, Nov. 17^th and notify the lucky winner by phone.

This year we have an unusually short window to purchase scrip due to the way the calendar falls. There are only 3 weeks of school after Thanksgiving and only 2 chances to place weekly orders.  Weekly scrip turnaround times:

Last chance to place a weekly order for scrip before Christmas will be Dec. 12^th for delivery by Dec. 19^th.  To help you with your shopping lists we are attaching the latest Great Lakes Scrip retail list.  Anything on this list can be purchased, just write it in on page 2 of your weekly order form.  Many of the Great Lakes retailers are offering bonus profit percents for the holidays.  Check the Great Lakes website at glscrip.com and check out what’s new to see which businesses are offering holiday bonuses and the dates the bonuses are available. 

Last minute shopping is available from our school box on Monday, Dec. 22th.  The central office is closed for scrip sales, Dec. 24^th, 25^th and 26^th.  The following week scrip can be purchased at the office on Monday, Dec. 29^th and Friday, Jan. 2^nd. 

Business Updates:

Charcoal Grill can be ordered in $25 amounts for your Christmas shopping.  They will remain at $10 in the school box.

Ponderosa has changed their profit to 10%

Valders Coop and Country Horizons have merged.  They are now called Country Visions Coop.  The certificates you now have can be used at any Valders Coop or Country Horizon site.  The new certificates will say Country Visions and will be available in $5, $10 and $25 at 3% profit

Holistic Massage has moved to 106 E Wilson St. Suite A, Valders . Price of a 1 hour massage is reduced to $35 from now till Christmas. The profit percent remains at 22.

New Businesses:   

  Great news Festival Foods has joined the scrip program.  They will be offering us $50 and $100 gift cards at 3% profit.  We will begin carrying Festival Foods in our daily box in the $50 denominations on Monday, Oct.6^th.  This will allow you to have scrip for the opening of the store Oct. 10th.  The $100 can be ordered on a weekly order form.  We will need to move our inventory around to afford this new business.  Please be patient the first few weeks as we move things around.  We may be able to add the $100 cards after we get things more settled.  Watch your order forms for denomination amounts. 

R&N Cleaning has joined the scrip program.  They offer Host Dry Carpet Cleaning with 15% profit on the total amount of your bill. Turn in your bill and your check made out to scrip to any scrip location.

Business Changes:

First Chrysler has made a change to the way they will do scrip.  Effective immediately when having work done at First Chrysler you will leave your check for your bill, made out to scrip, at First Chrysler and then we will go in and pick up your check.  We will pay First Chrysler at that point.  You will no longer have to turn your bill into us.  This is the same way that Safranski and Satori’s are done and works very well.  You can still order gift certificates as in the past.

Reminders:                                                                       

With the opening of Kohl’s remember that scrip on hand is in $25 denominations and can also be ordered on a weekly  in $10 and $50.  You can pay your Kohl’s credit card bills with scrip.

It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas.  Did you know, Thanksgiving falls so late this year that the traditional Thanksgiving to Christmas shopping season is 24% shorter than last year?  Last year we had 34 shopping days from one holiday to the next, this year it is only 26 days.  Start thinking of what scrip can do to help with your holiday shopping this year.  Daily sales will end at the schools on Friday, Dec. 19^th (start of Christmas vacation) and there will only be one sale day at the office during Christmas week that of Monday, Dec. 22^nd.  The Central Office is closed the afternoon of Dec.24^th through Dec. 26^th.   Your last chance to order weeklys will be Dec. 12^th for delivery before school is out.  Please start to plan ahead now.  Let us do your shopping and your scrip profit will show it.

 We have a supply of Best Buy in the office of $25 and $100 cards. If you would like to purchase some you can add it to your daily order or call and stop in the office to get it the same day.

While it was summer, the scrip office stayed very busy. We sold over $174,000 more in scrip this summer than during the same time frame last summer. Family Profit reports are being sent out this week.

PROFIT CHANGES:  Family Video is now 15%
                                      CVS is now 6%
                                      Walgreens is now 6% and now in $25 denominations
NEW BUSINESS:
Dalton Carpets: It is available on a weekly order form. It can be any amount and is a 5%profit. It can be used on all in house products such as carpet, vinyl, laminates, ceramic tile etc. Scrip cannot be used to pay the labor charge for installation or sales tax. It can be used in the Manitowoc, Appleton, Green Bay and Sheboygan stores. Submit a copy of you bill to the scrip office and we will pay your bill directly to Dalton Carpets.

PORT CITIES ANIMAL HOSPITAL: Certificates can be for any amount with a profit of 3%.  Certificates can be used for routine care, products, boarding, nail trims, and basic grooming.  SCRIP cannot be used for sick animals, surgeries, etc.  Certificates should be purchased prior to appointments for payment same day as service.  When scheduling appointments, ask for a price estimate and order your certificates from us at that time.  For more details, contact the SCRIP office. 

LAKESHORE CINEMA:  We will be offering $10 gift cards at 10% profit.  Cards can be used for admission and at the concession stand.  Cards not used in full will carry balance for future use.  Special orders for larger amounts also are available.
